“[O]f Liberty then I would say that, in the whole plenitude of it’s extent, it is unobstructed action according to our will: but rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will, within the limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add ‘within the limits of the law’; because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual.” Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Isaac H. Tiffany, 4 April 1819.

Eleutheria (pronounced – “el oo theria“) is Greek for “freedom”. Our website name is designed to convey the concept of individual freedom. However, concurrent with freedom comes the various responsibilities incumbent upon those exercising that freedom.

That is, precisely, why MyEleutheria has so few rules. We’re fairly certain that our Terms of Use are quite possibly, the shortest on the Internet. But, our reasoning is very simple: reduce the rules, expand freedom.

Being told that everything you say and do is under strict scrutiny from any party isn’t being free. It doesn’t matter if that party is the local, state, or federal government or if it’s some giant corporation trying to control your life through demonization of your beliefs and ideas. We believe freedom means you have a right, within limits, to express your beliefs and ideas without being threatened or coerced into choosing to change them or remaining silent.

To that end, we have created MyEleutheria as a place where everyone is an author. You can make written posts, upload videos or audio, post pictures, or just comment on such postings. It’s up to you as to what you want to do.

Here, you’ll find responsible communication between individuals and respect for others’ opinions. So long as you don’t violate our Terms of Use, no one is going to try and interfere with your freedom to post whatever you like. If you can handle that, please, feel free to join us.
